The New Westminster Police Department confirms that they have been requested by the West Kelowna RCMP to take over the use of force aspect of the investigation regarding a police pursuit and shots fired that resulted in two men and one women being arrested just north of Vernon on July 31, 2012.
There are currently two New Westminster Police Detectives in West Kelowna conducting the investigation. They arrived late in the evening on July 31, 2012.
The West Kelowna RCMP will be maintaining all aspects of the investigation except for the use of force which as stated above, will be investigated by the New Westminster Police Department.
No further updates are available at this time but will be provided as the investigation allows.
