New Westminster – The New Westminster Police Department is confirming they have taken on an external investigation into a use of force incident that occurred in Prince George on May 11th, 2012.
The Prince George RCMP made this request to ensure the investigation was conducted in an independent and transparent manner.
At this time, the NWPD is not in a position to provide additional information on the incident other than what is contained in the RCMP media release. The NWPD can advise that four members of the NWPD Major Crime Unit have travelled to Prince George to commence their investigation and updates will be provided when they are available.
