On March 8th, 2012 at approximately 19:48 hours, a male suspect entered a local financial institution located in the 500 block of 6th Street and produced a note demanding cash. The male did not produce any weapons and after a short period of time he fled the bank without obtaining any money. After fleeing the bank the male suspect stole a local taxi, which was found abandoned by Police a short time later in Burnaby.
Subsequent investigation by members of the Patrol Division and the Operational Support Unit identified a viable suspect who was located and arrested on March 9th.
Michael Ross OGDEN, a 33 year old New Westminster resident has now been formally charged with three counts of Robbery and held in custody until his next court appearance on March 21st, 2012.
