Pedestrian Motor Vehicle Collision

On Friday, February 3, 2012 at approximately 19:24 Hours, a New Westminster police officer was driving northbound on 6th Street when he came upon a pedestrian struck in the area of 6th Street and Queens Avenue. A nineteen year old female was crossing at a marked crosswalk and was struck by a southbound travelling vehicle. The police officer immediately called for EHS and the New Westminster Fire Department to attend the scene. The female suffered serious head injuries and was transported to Royal Columbian Hospital where she remains in intensive care. The motorist involved in the collision, a Seventy-Four year old Coquitlam resident, remained at the scene as did several witnesses.

The New Westminster Collision Analyst and Reconstruction Team and the Forensic Identification team attended the scene to assist with the investigation.
