Males Charged With Numerous Offences

On November 18th and 19th 2011, Fifty-Five residents at 9 separate apartment complexes in New Westminster had their vehicles broken into. In many of these instances the suspects stole valuables and in a few cases, the suspects attempted to steal vehicles as well. In all cases, the building parking areas were secured however, the suspects managed to force entry by either gaining access to the lobby in some fashion, or by damaging the garage gate to force entry.

Through the combined investigative efforts of the New Westminster Police Forensic Identification Section and the Operational Support Team, two suspects were identified and arrested this past week. Charged are:

  1. Curtis Ryan Crackle, 27 years old of no fixed address – a mix of charges ranging from break and enter, theft under $5000 and mischief under $5000 (25 counts total).
  2. Harley James Barich, 28 years old and a Vancouver resident – a mix of charges including break and enter, mischief under $5000, theft under $5000, and motor vehicle theft (18 counts total).

Both males remain in custody awaiting future court appearances.
