Update: The victim is a Thirty-Four year old New Westminster resident. The victim remains in hospital following surgery and is expected to recover from his injuries. Police investigators continue examining the evidence and interviewing potential witnesses.
At approximately 1830 Hours, the New Westminster police received a 9-1-1 call reporting that a male had been shot. Police officers attended the One-Thousand Block of Cameron Street and located an adult male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
The male was transported to a lower mainland hospital for treatment. The area is currently being searched to identify the exact location where the incident occurred. The investigation is in its preliminary stages and further information will be released as it becomes available.
