Suspicious Circumstance – Possible Pedestrian Motor Vehicle Incident

On November 12th at approximately 2300 Hours, New Westminster Police attended the South-East corner of McBride Boulevard at 8th Avenue on report of a pedestrian laying on the roadway. Upon attendance, the pedestrian, a Fifty-Four year old New Westminster resident, advised officers that she attempted to walk northbound on McBride Boulevard in the crosswalk but cannot recall what happened after stepping onto the roadway. The victim was transported to Royal Columbian Hospital where she has been treated for non-life threatening injuries, including a broken lower leg.
Police investigators are interested in contacting the driver of a Beige Toyota Camry. The driver of this vehicle is described as an Asian male 30 – 40 years old wearing a suit jacket. This male was observed exiting his vehicle at the scene then driving from the area. The driver may have valuable information with regard to this incident and investigators would like to speak with him.
