On Friday March twelfth at 23:40 hours, New Westminster Police and Fire personnel attended a residence located in the Nineteen-Hundred Block of Edinburgh Street on report of a house fire. At scene, Emergency personnel discovered a residence that was involved in flames and smoke.
Fortunately, the home’s residents were not inside the house and were all accounted for. The fire was extinguished by Fire personnel. Damage from smoke and fire was extensive.
Police Victim Assistance staff attended to the residents housing and essential needs. The cause of the fire has yet to be determined. Police and Fire officials continue their investigation.
On Monday March Fifteenth at 00:25 hours, New Westminster Police and Fire personnel attended the Unit Block of Tenth Avenue on report of a residential carport fire. At scene, Emergency personnel discovered the carport was involved in flames and smoke. The fire was extinguished by Fire personnel.
No one was injured in the fire however, the carport received extensive damage as did two vehicles that were parked in the carport at the time of the fire.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined. Police and Fire officials continue their investigation.
