Armed Takeover Style Bank Robbery

The New Westminster Police is currently investigating a violent “takeover” style bank robbery which occurred on Monday June 15th, 2009. Two masked males entered a local bank, one armed with a handgun and one with a knife. One of the males jumped the counter and robbed several tellers. The males made off with a quantity of money and fled in a stolen vehicle.

The stolen vehicle is a white 1998 Ford Taurus bearing BC License plate “939 DXR”.

Male Suspect # 1 Description

  • White male
  • 6’1” tall
  • Slim build
  • Slim face with some stubble
  • 30 to 40 years of age
  • Dark hair with graying sideburns
  • Weathered skin, possible due to acne scars

Male Suspect # 2 Description

  • White male
  • Short in stature around 5’6” tall
  • Medium build
  • 30 to 40 years of age

The stolen vehicle is a white 1998 Ford Taurus bearing BC License plate “939 DXR”.
Should anyone locate this vehicle or its occupants, do not approach it or attempt to deal with it yourself, call 911 immediately.
