Male Stabbed

New Westminster Police have a thirty-six-year-old woman in custody following a stabbing incident last night.

Shortly after 8:00 PM on May 7th, police were called to an apartment building in the 500 block of Ash Street after residents reported a male lying in a hallway covered in blood. When officers attended they discovered the male, also thirty-six, who was suffering from several apparent stab wounds to his upper arm and chest.

Police officers administered first aid to the victim until the arrival of BC Ambulance personnel, after which he was transported to Royal Columbian Hospital. Fortunately, his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The female in custody was arrested a short time after the incident, however, at this point she has not been charged and the investigation is ongoing.
