Effective 2009-02-24, the New Westminster Police Board has elected to change the status of Cst. Jeff Klassen’s suspension. Cst. Klassen was suspended ‘with pay’ however, after careful consideration the New Westminster Police Board has decided to change the status of his suspension to that of “suspension without pay”.
The suspension arises from a Vancouver Police Department criminal investigation into allegations of an assault transpiring during Cst. Klassens off duty activities on the morning of January 21st 2009, in the City of Vancouver.
The New Westminster Police Services Professional Standards section continues their investigation into the members conduct and the Police Complaints Commission has been advised of this change in suspension status.
