The New Westminster Police Service is investigating a hit & run motor vehicle collision that occurred on 6th Avenue between 2nd Street and 4th Street.
Shortly after 6:30 AM this morning a 19 year old male was riding his skate board, on the side walk, travelling East on 6th Avenue, on his way to a local day care where he works. He was struck by a vehicle as he crossed the street.
It is believed the victim may have lost consciousness for a few moments and when he awoke, the suspect vehicle was gone. The victim received medical attention at the hospital and is recovering from his non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect vehicle is described as light colored and is likely a truck or SUV size vehicle. Minimal damage is expected to be visible on the front end of the suspect vehicle.
