At 0900 hrs, January 22nd 2009, the New Westminster Police Service has suspended with pay, a 38 year old four year member of the police service.
The suspension arises from a Vancouver Police Department criminal investigation into allegations of an assault and robbery transpiring during the members off duty activities on the morning of January 21st 2009, in the City of Vancouver.
The suspension is effective immediately and will be reviewed within 30 days by the New Westminster Police Board. The New Westminster Police Service Professional Standards section continues their investigation into the members conduct and has advised the Police Complaints Commission of this action.
