At 0100 hrs this morning the New Westminster police attended a shopping plaza parking lot in the 800 blk of McBride blvd. after locating an occupied stolen vehicle. Patrol members attended the scene in an attempt to stop the vehicle before it fled. The suspect vehicle took evasive action . A police officers firearm was discharged , the suspect vehicle was stopped and the occupants arrested. Four adults were taken into custody facing numerous charges including possession of stolen property, theft , and dangerous driving. One of the suspects was injured and taken to Royal Columbian Hospital however the injuries were minor and the suspect was transported back to New Westminster police cells.
