NWPD investigating cause of fatal motorcycle crash

New Westminster – Officers were called to the area of 10th Avenue at approximately 8:30am on June 19th, for a report of a collision between a motorcycle and a passenger car. The motorcycle rider, who is an adult male from Vancouver, subsequently died.

10th Ave between McBride Boulevard and 6th Street was closed for several hours as the New Westminster Police Department investigated the collision scene. Police continue to investigate to determine whether speed, or other factors were a cause.

“This is a very sad situation to report, and our Victim Assistance Unit has engaged those who are impacted by this tragedy,” stated Sergeant Jeff Scott. “It’s too early on in the investigation to determine who’s at fault or what the cause of the collision is, but we’d like to remind both drivers and motorcyclists to slow down and drive responsibly.”

Anyone with information about the collision is asked to contact the NWPD at 604-525-5411.
