New Westminster – The NWPD is pleased to announce our support of the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police and the 2015 National Prescription Drug Drop-Off Day being held on Saturday, May 9, 2015.
The CACP notes, the rising rates of recreational misuse of prescription drugs by youth can lead to addiction and unintended tragic consequences. The National Prescription Drug Drop-Off Day is intended to raise awareness of the rapidly growing and troubling issues related to prescription drugs.
The NWPD is asking everyone to take a moment to clear out their family medicine cabinets and drop off any unused or unwanted prescription drugs at the front counter of the NWPD station located at 555 Columbia Street on Saturday, May 9th. In addition, unused and unwanted prescription drugs can be dropped off at local pharmacies throughout the year.
