Emergency 9-1-1

Multiple Agencies Searching for Suspect Considered Armed and Dangerous

At approximately 10:00am this morning, NWPD patrol members responded to a call of two people sleeping in a vehicle in the 100 block of Royal Avenue. After approaching the vehicle and making verbal contact with the unknown male in the driver’s seat, the male produced a firearm. The male pointed the firearm directly at the NWPD member and pulled the trigger however the firearm failed to discharge.

While members tried to get cover the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed. The vehicle has been involved in pursuits through New Westminster, Burnaby and Vancouver and was last seen at approximately 11:00am at Southeast Marine Drive and Inverness Street in Vancouver. As a result of fleeing from police, the vehicle has been involved in a number of hit and runs and will have some damage although the extent of the damage is unknown at this time.

The vehicle is described as follows:

White 4-door Buick Lacrosse, displaying Alberta license plate, J33225.  Extent of damage is unknown.

The vehicle had two occupants described as follows:

Passenger:

  • Caucasian female
  • reddish/orange hair
  • acne or pock marks on her face
  • wearing a tank top and tights with a flower pattern

There was also a small pit-bull breed dog in the vehicle.

The NWPD is asking anyone with any information about the occurrence, those involved or the location of either the vehicle or its occupants to call 911 immediately. It is very important that should anyone come upon this vehicle, they should call 911 immediately and not approach the vehicle as its occupants are considered armed and dangerous.
