The New Westminster Police Summer Soccer School is a unique recreation program bringing together police officers and youth for a fun filled week.  The program is limited to children aged 5 to 10 years.  The school runs for five days and involves approximately 300 children.  The coaches include police officers and volunteers including community soccer players and graduates of the soccer school. The soccer school was introduced in 1981 and has become a flagship community program for the police service.

Although soccer instruction is the foundation of this program, the participants are exposed to many other activities throughout the week.  These include a demonstration from the Police Service Dog Section, an orientation of various police vehicles and a visit from the New Westminster Fire Department.

The camp will run from July 21^st to July 25^th 2008 from 9:00am until 1:00pm at Queen’s Park Stadium located at 1^st Street at 3^rd Avenue in New Westminster.

Payment is accepted only as cash (exact amount only..no change provided), cheques or money orders made out to the New Westminster Police Soccer School.  We will not accept post dated cheques.
 
How to Register

The New Westminster Police Soccer School is extremely popular and commonly sells out within a few hours of registration opening. 

• Registration is in person only.  You may have another adult register your child on your behalf.  However,  each adult is limited to register a maximum of 5 children, no exceptions.

• There will be NO WAIT LIST.  Those whose registration forms and payment are accepted on the date of registration are those who have been accepted into the soccer school.

• Registration will commence on April 19^th 2008 at 10:00am at the New Westminster Police Station located at 555 Columbia Street.

We have opened up an additional 20 spots for the 2008 soccer school that will be handed out on a first come / first served basis. All inquiries can be made to Sgt. Chris MULLIN at (604) 525-5411

 
Registration forms will be sent to all local New Westminster Schools and will be available at the New Westminster Police front counter in mid-March.

Volunteer/Coaching Information
 
The program is also extremely popular for the coaching staff and we have a 95% return of previous coaching staff.  We will initially contact previous coaching staff to determine if they are available for the new season.  If there are positions to be filled by new volunteers, organizers will review emails received by those interested. 

Emails will not be accepted prior to March 2008.  A response will not be provided to this email until June 2008.  NOTE: Minimum age requirement is 13.
