The property marking program encourages local citizens and businesses to mark their articles and belongings for later identification should they be stolen. 

The police recommend articles such as televisions, vehicle equipment, lawn mowers, bicycles, computers, etc. be engraved and/or permanently marked, and their serial numbers recorded.

There are different ways to mark your belongings.  The New Westminster Police Crime Prevention Unit will show you how to mark your own property by using an engraver.

Engravers are offered to the public on a loan sign-out basis, but you must phone ahead to ensure there is one available.
