Sudden Death – Child Fall from Balconey
A two year old little girl fell from an 8th flr balcony of an apartment building in the 700 blk of 5 Avenue. A witness from the third floor looked out his window and saw the little girl lying on the balcony below. NWPS received multiple 911 calls. Upon arrival, it was obvious to the members on scene that the little girl’s injuries were most likely fatal. Ambulance attended and transported the girl to hospital where she was pronounced deceased. Initial investigation indicated the child climbed up a child bed, adjacent to the master bed in the bedroom that is tucked up against a wall next to an open window. This was a tragic accident and the NWPS communicated to the community through the media, caution and safety, insofar as it relates to this event and families opening windows due to summer conditions.
