The New Westminster Police arrested Geraldo Balmana ADANO (37 years-old) of Port Coquitlam after a
police pursuit in a stolen vehicle. On April 1, 2008 the Integrated Municipal Provincial Auto Crime Team
(IMPACT) announced British Columbia's top ten auto thieves ofwhich ADANO was identified.
Shortly before 3:00 AM this morning, a New Westminster Police patrol officer attempted to stop a 2001 Mustang for speeding. The driver sped off refusing to pull over and a four-minute pursuit from 6th Avenue and 10th Avenue in New Westminster that ended at Kensington Street and Canada Way in Burnaby. ADANO turned for the highway and then looped around back towards the police and stopped. He was then arrested without incident. The Mustang was reported stolen January 21, 2008 from Maple Ridge and the license plates on the vehicle were reported stolen from a different 2001 Mustang from Burnaby. ADANO was wanted on warrants for Possession of Break-in Instruments, Fait to Stop and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
