The New Westminster Police have resolved a "man with a gun" incident that occurred in the 1300 Blk Kamloops St. At 4:00 AM this morning the police responded to a multi-unit residential building of a man with a gun, The Municipal Integrated Emergency Response Team was called to the scene and they quickly contained the building as well as safely evacuating nearby residents. Police crisis negotiators contacted the people within the suite and all 7 people came out. MIERT had to deploy the use of a non-lethal impact weapon on a non-compliant subject. The subject was checked over by the British Columbia Ambulance Service and no injury was sustained. A gun was located inside the suite and detectives from the New Westminster Police will be continuing with the investigation.
