On January 9, 2008 at 2:40pm two males, at least one ofwho was armed with a handgun entered the Scotia Bank located at 445 6th St in New Westminster B.C. These men robbed the bank of an undisclosed amount ofmoney and left in a blue car.

As a result of the investigation by Patrol Division and the Major Crime Section ofthe New Westminster Police Service, police were led to two residences in Surrey, B.C. The New Westminster Police executed two search warrants at these addresses, which resulted in a quantity ofmoney and exhibits being seized. One male has been arrested.

The robbery investigation is still ongoing.

During the execution of one ofthe search warrants a New Westminster Police Service Member discharged his firearm. The Surrey Royal Canadian Mounted Police are presently investigating this officer involved shooting.
