On Sunday February 28th at 5:30 A.M., a motorist enters the parking area of a local gas station located in the Eight-Hundred Block of McBride Boulevard and parked his car while he dashed inside for a quick purchase of cigarettes.
Unfortunately, the driver left his 2005 white Infinity G35 with the doors unlocked and the engine running. While the vehicle owner was inside the store an unknown suspect was seen walking through the parking lot and then quickly entering the unattended vehicle and driving off westbound on Eight avenue.
Police searched the area for the vehicle however it was not located. Surveillance video from the scene was obtained by police. The suspect appears to be a Caucasian male, Thirty years of age, wearing a dark baseball cap, and carrying a back pack.
Motorists are reminded that thieves are always on the look-out for opportunities. This includes vehicles that are left unattended with the keys in the ignition or property that is left in plain view inside a vehicle. Thieves are only too happy to smash your vehicle’s window to check out that bag, box or, jacket that is sitting on the vehicles seat to see if any valuables are inside. The bag may be empty but thieves don’t know that. Keep your valuables locked away and out of sight, lock your vehicle securely in well lit areas where traffic from cars and pedestrian is frequent.
