Equipment

1969 Ford

Maria

This vehicle was one of New Westminster Police Departments first patrol cars (circa 1920). It was used as a paddy wagon, ambulance, or just about anything else the City would require a truck for. Even though the police department had the Mariah, they still had a few horses for patrolling the City.

1953 Police Office

The interior of the New Westminster Police station in November 1953. The police station was located downtown New Westminster until it was relocated in City Hall on Royal Ave. in 1954.

First Dog Squad

Sidney Bass was interested in obtaining police dogs for the Department. This picture was taken in Surrey in circa 1915 when Bass went out to a kennel looking for possible police dogs. It's not sure who is in the photograph with the dogs.

1935 Sidecar

This photograph from 1935 shows two members from the New Westminster Police on a motorcycle side car. This picture is believed to be for the May Day parade in 1935.
