The New Westminster Police Department wants residents to be aware of the following recent crimes so that residents can take precautions:
- We have seen an increase in theft from vehicles in the mid-town area (between 6th Street and 12th Street, and 6th Ave to 3rd Ave) and on Quayside Drive. Unlocked vehicles parked in underground parking lots have been targeted.
- Ensure your vehicle is locked
- Remove all valuables from your vehicle at night.
- Do not allow people to follow you into the underground parking area.
- Report all suspicious activity.
