The New Westminster Police Department wants residents to be aware of the following recent crimes so that residents can take precautions:
- We have seen an increase in theft of motorcycles in the mid-town area (between 3rd Avenue and Hamilton Street, and 8th Street and 12th Street).
- Park in a well-lit area.
- Consider buying a motorcycle disc-brake lock.
- Report all suspicious activity.
- We have also seen an increase in mail theft.
- Secure the front doors of apartment buildings when coming and going.
- Check you mail regularly to ensure it is empty.
- Track important packages.
