New Westminster – The New Westminster Police Department is currently investigating an alleged break and enter to a bike store in the 400 block of East Columbia Street. Patrols officers were called at approximately 12:45am after a male had been seen breaking the display window of the store. The caller provided the details of the suspect, and a male matching the description was located a short distance away.
The male was taken into custody for break and enter, and held in cells to appear in morning court.
“Because of the diligence of the caller, and the quick response of our patrol officers, we were able to act quickly and arrest the suspect,” stated Media Relations Officer acting Sergeant Jeff Scott. “We’ve submitted a report to crown counsel recommending charges, and the suspect is due to appear in court this morning.”
