Would you like to help police recover stolen vehicles? You can make a real contribution in the fight against auto crime. Volunteers have access to hand-held and laptop computers for a unique purpose. These computers contain an electronic "hot sheet" of vehicles of interest to the police, such as stolen vehicles, stolen license plates or vehicles associated to criminals. Vehicle license plate numbers may be typed into the computers and a match, or "hit", will indicate that the vehicle is possibly stolen. The volunteers will then alert the police. While working with a partner, volunteers will be patrolling in a vehicle (one provided or a privately owned). Volunteer must possess a valid driver's license to join this program.
